Step1. Free talk

Talk about the pictures.

Step2. Lead-in

Step3. Reading

1. Read the passage and circle the correct answer.

2. Read the passage and complete the questions and advice.

3. Circle the best answer.

4. Try to write a short passage about problem affecting the school life.

Step4. Points

1.give up：让出、放弃、戒掉；指行为者碰到某种困难，自己主动放弃。及物动词，可接名词或动名词做宾语。

   give in：迫于某种压力而放弃，倾向于屈服。不及物，不能跟宾语。

2. be involved in 包含在......、涉及、被卷入（不好的事）

    get involved in 涉及、致力于、涉足（主动介入）

3. speak up 大声说出，公开发表意见、畅所欲言

4. show  up 出席、露面

5. every time：连词作用，引导时间状语从句：每次......的时候

   还有the moment/minute...一......就          next time下次......的时候              

   the first/second/.../last time第一次/二次/最后一次......的时候                     

   by the time到......时

6. put sb. down  使某人出丑            put down 降落、写下、镇压

    let sb. down  让某人失望             break down 坏了、垮了

    cut down 削减、砍倒                   turn down 拒绝、降低

    look down on/upon 看不起、轻视

    take down 记下、取下
