Have a dictation. Step2.Skimming and scanning 1.Ask Ss to look at the picture on P77 and guess the main content of the text. 2Then look through the whole passage to gain the main idea of it and know how to make my home a safter place. Look through the text quickly and try to master the main idea of the text. 4.Get Ss to read the passage again and circle the dangerous places in Activity 2. 5.Ask some volunteers to give best answers. 6.Lead others to answer it. 7.Ask Ss to read the text carefully this time. 8.Finish exercises in Activity 3 and Activity 4. They may discuss in pairs or groups. 9.Check their answers. Ss do the intensive reading and finish the related taskes. Correct mistakes if they make during their discussion. 10.
