一、教学目标与要求:

At the end of the class, the students will be able to

1. get to know the name of the programmes on TV.

2. grasp useful expressions in further reading.

四、教学过程与时间分配:

Step 1. Lead-in and greeting

First get the students to have daily report.

According to the daily report and ask some questions.

Have a dictation.

Step2. Real life skills

First get the students to answer the questions:

Acticity1: Read the TV Programs. Get to know what each program is about.

Explain the new words and important words in the table:

Quiz 智力测试 (quizzed

 Soap opera (肥皂剧)  

 Society 社会

Activity2: What will happen if your family disagree on which program to watch? Tick() the possible solution to deal with the problem.

Ask some students to talk about the problems.

Check their answers.

Activity3The following is a TV program timetable on Saturday evening. Make a better schedule for each of your family members to watch for fun.

According to the hobbies and likes which families have and then try to choose a suitable program.

Get them to write a schedule for their family and try to talk about it.

Step 3 Further reading

First get the students to read the classic film clips and try to talk the different types of the movies.

Get the students to look at the posts and try to talk about the movies with the help of the common movie terms.

For example: special effects, be directed by , plot/story line, climax, characters, dierector

Actor, actress, edit, music, starring and so on.

Get the students to talk about their favorite film and try to describe the film.\

Then do guessing game and try to say what the film is.

Wrap-up

Go through the important words and phrases and try to say the Chinese meanings.

Try to settle differences between family members.

究竟用哪一个,要看你说的是参加什么。不同的词短语有不尽相同的搭配,用的场合也不尽相同,因此选用不能太随意。

假如你所参加某个组织或某(群)人,就用 join,join group one参加第一组, 但如果你说参加做什么事,那么就用join,如 join in dancing。再比如,要是说参加某会议,那英文习惯上就是 attend a meeting,但要是说参加某一个活动呢,那就英文就是take part in an activity; 这里participate in也可啊,只是语气要端庄或严肃点,用于较为正式的场合。
