Dear Mr. Paul Evans:

I am happy to write this letter of recommendation for Miss. Rachel Pinnow at your request in your letter of June 14. Miss. Rachel Pinnow has been teaching in my department since 2002. As dean of the department, I have supervised her work. Since I am also an English teacher, I have got quite a lot of personal contact with her.

                                              --------提供被推荐人的姓名,以及写该信的原因;告知与被推荐人的关系。

She taught three coures-interpreting, speaking and extensive reading-to different levels of students. She was able to meet challenges and proved successful in her work. Teaching oral translation to the postgraduate English majors entailed considerable time and great wisdom on her part because each time she had to select materials proper in content and in language level for the students. Though it was new to her, she had fulfilled the task to our satisfaction. The MBA class she taught was made up of students whose English levels and expectations of the course varied greatly. It was a headache to many teachers. But she handled the class very well and every student was happy with the course.

                                            ---------具体陈述被推荐人的工作表现。

Because of her understanding and amiable character, Miss. Rachel Pinnow has made many friends on campus. Her communication skills, enthusiasm and sincerity have contributed to her success in her teaching and personal relationships with people. Though she was late for class several times in the first semester, she has been punctual after we pointed it out to her.

                                          ----------介绍被推荐人的品质。同时也客观地指出了被推荐人的缺点。

Miss. Rachel Pinnow has impressed me as a qualified teacher and a refined woman. Thus, I offer myself as one of her references.

                                          ----------- 高度概括被推荐人的能力和品质,说明自己愿意推荐的理由。

Sincerely,

Catherine Green

Dean of English Department
