医学英语拓展课简介
医学英语阅读是大学英语拓展课程之一，属于ESP（专门用途英语）, 本课程主要让学生开始熟悉和初步掌握医学英语的特点及规律，学习医学英语词汇的构词法和熟记一定数量的词根及词缀，掌握专业医学英语的阅读技能，目的是使大学本科生经过大学基础英语的学习后,继续巩固和不断提高英语的语言能力，掌握医学英语的基本特点和表达习惯，能够以医学英语为工具，独立检索、阅读相关的医学文献，从事医学的学习、研究和实践。

3．课程教学目的与要求：
目的：本课程主要让学生开始熟悉和初步掌握医学英语的特点及规律，学习医学英语词汇的构词法和熟记 一定数量的词根及词缀，掌握专业医学英语的阅读技能，目的是使大学本科生经过大学基础英语 的学习后,继续巩固和不断提高英语的语言能力，掌握医学英语的基本特点和表达习惯，能够以医 学英语为工具，独立检索、阅读相关的医学文献，从事医学的学习、研究和实践。
要求：教师要熟悉医学相关知识，具备扎实的英语语言运用能力和双语教学的相关技能；同时能根据医学 专业英语相对枯燥的实际善于引导学生，激发他们学习医学英语的热情；学生则要求达到大学英语 四级水平，具有一定的阅读、写作、听说能力。

本课程属于ESP（专门用途英语），是医学相关专业和外国语专业的交叉学科；学习本课程需一定的医学 专业知识及基本的英语语言运用能力。
